What The Atkins Diet Involves

The Atkins diet plan has gone through many changes over the years. You will notice people discussing the new Atkins Diet and sometimes refer to the old Atkins Diet. While it originally started out to be a very high protein, high fat diet plan … the new Atkins diet plan has evolved to be a much healthier diet to lose weight fast, and keep it off. It's good to see that this diet to lose weight has changed with the times, taking notice of new and improved studies.

People are finally realizing that eating so much saturated fat isn’t healthy for the body and are making adjustments to the food selection.

Nowadays, you are to focus on eating plenty of lean protein sources, healthy fats such as nuts, seeds, olive oil, fatty fish, and avocados, along with plenty of vegetables with the new Atkins diet plan.

Fruits are to be added in moderation during later stages of the diet once the initial phase is finished. As you approach your goal weight, then you will start adding limited amounts of low-glycemic carbohydrates such as oats, brown rice, and quinoa.

Note that you are not allowed large amounts of these foods however as the serving sizes are still quite small. All in all, this makes it a low carbohydrate approach to nutrition.

I loved using it and so have many others.
